Is the AILET 2026 Application Form Still Open?

The AILET 2026 registration window is closed. NLU Delhi opened the form on 7 August 2025 and, after a brief extension from the original deadline of 10 November, finally shut it on 13 November 2025. The fee could be paid until 14 November 2025, and the exam was held on 14 December 2025.

The notification lands in the middle of the year, the form opens in early August, and the deadline falls in November, with the exam in December. Nothing about the process below changes materially from year to year, so treat this as your working playbook for the next attempt.

How to Fill the AILET 2026 Application Form Online

The entire AILET application is online. Follow these steps carefully, because an incomplete form or an unpaid fee means your application will not be considered.

  1. Step 1: Visit the official NLU Delhi website at nationallawuniversitydelhi.in and open the AILET registration link.

  2. Step 2: Register as a new user with your full name, a valid email ID, mobile number and applicant type (Indian national or Foreign/OCI/PIO). You will receive login credentials.

  3. Step 3: Log in and fill in your personal, academic and contact details exactly as per your official documents.

  4. Step 4: Select your course (BA LLB or LLM) and choose up to three preferred exam cities.

  5. Step 5: Upload a recent passport-size photograph and your signature in the format and size specified in the notification.

  6. Step 6: Pay the application fee online as per your category through debit card, credit card, UPI or net banking.

  7. Step 7: Review every detail, submit the form, and download a printout of the completed application and fee receipt for your records.

Documents Required for the AILET Application Form

Keep these ready before you start, so you can complete the form in one sitting without hunting for files midway.

  • A recent passport-size colour photograph (scanned), as per the dimensions in the notification.

  • A scanned image of your signature.

  • Class 10 and Class 12 marksheets (and the LLB degree/marksheet for LLM applicants).

  • A valid photo ID (Aadhaar, passport or similar).

  • Category certificate (SC/ST/OBC/EWS) if you are claiming a reserved category.

  • PwD certificate, if applicable, and BPL certificate for fee exemption, if applicable.

  • A working email ID and mobile number that you check regularly, since all updates come there.

AILET 2026 Application Correction Window

Mistakes happen while filling a long form. NLU Delhi usually provides a brief correction window after the last date, during which candidates can edit certain fields in their submitted application. Not every field is always editable, so check the official instructions, and make your corrections promptly - the window is open for only a few days and does not reopen.

AILET Login: Accessing Your Application Form

Your AILET login is the gateway to everything - completing the form, paying the fee, making corrections, downloading the admit card and later checking your result. Keep your credentials safe and avoid creating multiple accounts, as duplicate registrations can cause your application to be rejected. If you forget your password, use the reset link on the portal rather than registering again.

What Happens After You Apply

Submitting the form is only the start of the journey. Here is what follows, so you can plan ahead.

  • Admit card - roughly in the last week of November. Download it from your AILET login.

  • The AILET exam - held on exam day in offline, OMR mode across your allotted centre.

  • Answer key - the provisional answer key appears within a day or two, followed by the objection window and the final key.

  • Result and counselling - the result and rank list are declared, usually within a few days of the exam, followed by counselling.

Planning for the Next AILET Cycle

If you are targeting the next AILET, start now. The candidates who sail through the form in August are the ones who prepared months earlier - eligibility checked, documents scanned, and preparation already in full swing. A strong AILET score comes from consistent practice in legal reasoning, English, logical reasoning, general knowledge and quantitative techniques, not from last-minute cramming.

Students who prepare with us get structured mentoring at our classroom centres across Delhi NCR - Hauz Khas, GTB Nagar, Noida, Ghaziabad and Gurugram - along with form-filling help and document checks when the window opens.
